Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment. In addition to a paid new employee orientation, we provide ongoing training and continuing education opportunities to keep our staff and organization on the leading edge of advancements in behavioral health care. The LPN performs entry level practical nurse duties while providing quality therapeutic and person-centered care to people with mental and physical health issues. Under the direction of the charge nurse, work is done according to established rules and procedures. Entry level practical nursing work may include but is not limited to: • Administering medications, treatments, and other therapies following the practitioner’s orders and treatment plan for the client. • Assisting the client in developing optimal independence in living or assisting with Activities of Daily Living as needed. • Completing assigned unit tasks. • Monitoring, reporting and appropriately documenting interactions with client. • Collecting and reporting data about physical and mental health needs of the client. Responding appropriately to client’s physical and mental health needs. Documenting interactions, plans and client responses to interventions offered. Assisting the RN in planning and implementation of the nursing plan of care and/or multi-disciplinary plans of care. • Responding immediately and appropriately to emergency situations to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. • Maintaining professional boundaries in a manner that creates a positive and caring environment and an accepting attitude towards diversity in people

Those crossing Appointing Authorities may be required to successfully complete a physical assessment form, provide education documentation (high school diploma, GED, college transcript, or college degree) and provide documented proof of freedom from tuberculosis completed within the last year.
